The site revolves around a long, distinct tongue of basaltic rock that extends perpendicular to the coast. It creates a striking topographical layout, starting as a shallow volcanic plateau that drops cleanly over a vertical cliff side down to a sprawling white sandy floor. Because of its structural layout and susceptibility to gentle currents, it is also highly regarded as one of our premier locations for easy, panoramic drift diving.

You will frequently find yourself surrounded by towering, shimmering schools of roncadores (bastard grunts), large guelly jacks, and hunting barracudas patrolling the outer edges of the platform.
• Life Beneath the Cornices: The vertical walls and rock overhangs are packed with natural lava shelters. Shining your light under these hidden ledges will regularly reveal resting canarian lobsters, bright trumpetfish hovering upside down, red mullets, and vibrant sea slugs clinging to the sponge-covered basalt.
• Sharks and Rays in the Shadows: The sandy perimeter at the base of the wall is prime territory for large bottom-dwellers. Look closely beneath the rock cornices or scanning across the sand flats to spot beautifully camouflaged angel sharks or wide-winged common stingrays resting out of the current.

• Capture the Dramatic Scale of the Drop-Off: The contrast between the dark, vertical volcanic wall and the stark white sand creates incredible composition lines. • Freeze the Action of the Shoals: When drifting past the large schools of jacks and grunts, switch your camera to a fast shutter speed or use sport mode on your GoPro.
