Being an island, Tenerife offers many places to watch a wonderful sunset over the Atlantic Ocean. But what are the best places to see it? We want to share with you our favourite ones!

1.       Playa de Benijo (Benijo Beach)

This is our number one place for a beautiful sunset in the north of the island. This beach is quite remote and not crowded so it makes it a perfect place for a romantic and quiet moment watching the sunset. The beach is encircled by cliffs and you can also see rocks emerging from the water. If you want to go for a swim, be careful with the waves as they are very powerful. But this place is so amazing that even staying on the shore is worth going there as the view is breathtaking. Also, on the way, you will observe wonderful landscapes. So rent a car and enjoy one of the most unforgettable sunsets!

2.       Volcano El Teide

Watching the sunset from 2500m-3000m is an amazing experience that in the whole country only Tenerife can offer. Being the highest point of Spain, the Teide volcano is a famous place for observing the sky. Getting to the National Park of Teide by the end of the afternoon, you can choose different slopes of the mountains to watch different views while the sun is going down: panoramic view to the whole island of Tenerife, the ocean and neighbour islands: La Gomera and Gran Canaria. After this unusual and exciting experience, you can stay on the volcano until the sky gets darker to see the stars. Bring warm clothes as it gets really cool at the top. You can rent a car or join some organized tours that bring you to Teide before the night comes. You can also choose to go up with the cable car and see the sunset from the height of 3550 meters above the sea! Believe us it´s a true adventure to experience!

3.       Playa de Los Cristianos (Los Cristianos Beach)

After a day of adventures, why not to relax and have a drink in a bar in Los Cristianos Beach? Some bars are frequently visited by local people who enjoy an afterwork with live music and a wonderful sunset behind La Gomera island. It is a good way to meet other people and share moments in a relaxed atmosphere.

4.       Sunset from a boat

What could be more exciting than watching the sunset from a boat? In Tenerife you can rent a boat or choose one of touristic boat trips during which you see dolphins and pilot whales swimming in their natural environment. Imagine yourself enjoying the moment with these lovely creatures while watching the sunset. This might be called «Paradise», isn't it?
